Engagement Photos in the Santa Clarita/San Fernando CA area?

My fiancee and I are looking for a quaint old-town area for our engagement photo session. We'll be staying at a relative's house in Santa Clarita, CA but would be willing to go as far as Pasadena for the perfect place. We're thinking brick or stucco textured walls, cool street lamps, and vintage/quirky storefronts. Any ideas?

Honestly, what I would recommend is taking a drive, finding a neighborhood that you find beautiful, and going for a walk.

Ask the photographer to follow you on your walk, walk around you, in front of you, behind you.. and take photos of you. Stop every now and then and take a posed photo in front of something beautiful.

I'd do it just at dusk so that you can get some photos in light and some in a darker atmosphere.
