Open Face Roast Beef Sandwhiches?
ok i am looking for a good open faced roast beed sandwhich. the resturant that i tried it at made it with a piece of bread on the bottom with mashed potatoes and brown grvey on it and it was great, i want the meat to be like a roast like a pot roast, is that what they are using or s there a actual roast beef roast???
Roast beef, is simply that any type of beef that has been slow roasted. Some restaurants use the sirloin tip roast, which in my opinion is the best tasting. But you can use a rump roast, blade or chuck roast as well. I usually stud the roast with slivers of fresh garlic by sutting little pockets all over the top of the beef, and inserting the garlic in each pocket, then season with pepper and slow roast in oven. Once done, let it sit, preferrably over night, then slice thin. Warm slices of roasted beef in some Au Jus, or gravy then build your open faced sandwich with whatever topping float your boat.
