How do I set the chimes on a Grandfather clock?
We inherited a grandfather clock. It has not been running for several years. We wound it up and it keeps time just fine, but the chimes are off by an hour (ex: when it is one o'clock it chimes 12 times). How can I fix this myself? Thanks!
Do you know the manufacturer? Mine is Howard Miller and there are different models that need to be set differently. I can go to www.howardmiller.com for directions on my clock which is relatively new, look up the name and it tells me how to level it, set it, change the time and general operating instructions. If you know the manufacturer, they probably also have a website with the same information.
