i want to become a fire fighter through the airforce?
I dont want to go to college to become a fire fighter, i would rather join the air force first, then become a firefighter after my service. is there anything that i should know about before following this course of action?
Im from california and I went through a Fire Academy class/ EMT i passed with flying colors.
I then applied all over the state for a BASIC fire job that i was over eligible for. To make a long story short i didnt get a job, after 16 weeks of hard training, 32 certifications, and 42 applications not one job. I applied for the lowest slot possible to seem realistic because i know how demanding this job is and how hard it is to even get a job and still came out short handed. Pretty much what im trying to say is i spent allot of money ..actually all my school money... to do this. and i too am thinking about enlisting in the air force because not only will they provide you with more training but school money for after. So if you cant get a job through the air force as a fire fighter, then your chances are greatly increased after more school. so to me its a win win after the air force.
