88 Lincoln Town Car with digital instrument cluster, speedo works but fuel and clock dont?
the fuel lights up but always says empty and the clock says 0 miles to empty and also the clock and date will work one minute then says a different time and date another. Dealer wants a 100 just to look at it, please help with any ideas! THANKS ALOT
I had the same thing happen to my 88 TC... Fuel gauge was the first to go. You will need to replace the cluster with a used one (cheaper option) or a new one (don't buy from the dealer!). Look around the local salvage yards for one in good shape or buy one online from an aftermarket retailer. If yours has the analog fuel gauge as well (mine did), I wouldn't really worry about it right now... as long as the analog gauge works... you have time to find a good, used one or a cheaper aftermarket replacement.
