PLEASE HELP, any ideas on how to fix my clock?
It is a 2 weight vienna clock and it keeps stopping, i have sent it to be fixed twice now but after 5 minutes or so of getting it going it stops again. what can i do? p.s sorry about where i put this question, no where else
First of all, listen to it tick. make sure it is "in beat". If it is in beat, it should have a very even tic...tic...tic...tic... If it sounds uneven, move the bottom of the clock left or right until it is ticking evenly.
If you do not hear a ticking sound at all, check to make sure the cable holding the weight is not tangled, or off the drum.
If these steps do not help, the clock most likely needs servicing - cleaning, oiling or the escapement may need work.
